A poster for where it will be seen
A poster is read from a distance and usually in passing, so the headline and image have to work in seconds. Where it hangs decides almost everything else: an indoor notice board, a shop window, a frame or an outdoor site each need a different size and material. Tell us where the poster will be displayed, how long it needs to last, the quantity and the size.

A3 and A2
Useful sizes for notice boards, shop counters and smaller frames. A3 and A2 can be printed in quantity on our litho presses or in short runs digitally.
A1 and larger
For bigger displays, our large-format inkjet presses print A1 posters and well beyond, with UV-stable inks for strong, lasting colour.
Indoor or outdoor
Paper posters suit indoor use. For outdoor or longer-term display, we can recommend a weather-resistant material or a protective laminate.
Paper & finishes
Silk and gloss papers show photographs and colour well; uncoated stock reduces glare under strong lighting. Choose a heavier weight if the poster will be handled or displayed without a frame. FSC-certified papers are available.
For large-format and outdoor work, materials include outdoor-grade PVC, self-adhesive vinyl and rigid boards such as foamex. Our large format page explains the materials in more detail.
Finishing and mounting
Paper posters are trimmed to size in-house. For large-format pieces, our team can fit eyelets, mount onto rigid boards or laminate the print for protection.
If posters are being sent to several sites, tell us how they should be packed, for example rolled or flat, so they arrive ready to display.
Litho or digital printing?
Litho on our B2 Heidelberg presses suits larger runs of the same poster at smaller sizes, with Pantone spot colours available. Digital suits short runs and versions, such as different dates or locations.
Large-format posters are produced on wide-format inkjet presses with UV-stable inks. Most large-format work is ready within 3–5 working days of artwork approval.
Mailing & trade print
Posters often form part of a wider campaign alongside leaflets, direct mail and point-of-sale. We can produce all the printed elements together, so colour and timing stay consistent across them.
We also produce unbranded posters for agencies and print resellers under NDA, and our own vans handle discreet local and regional deliveries.
