Leaflets for the message you need to share
A flyer is usually a flat sheet; a leaflet can be folded to give a message room to unfold. Both work for promotions, event information, product introductions and inserts in a mailing pack. We can help you choose a format that fits the amount of copy and the way people will receive it. A useful brief includes the finished size, whether you need a fold, the quantity, the intended use and any artwork you already have.
Flat flyers
A6, A5, A4 and A3 are familiar choices when you want an immediate, single-sheet message. Think about how the piece will be displayed or handed out before choosing its size.
Folded leaflets
DL and A5 finished formats can give more space for a menu, itinerary or step-by-step explanation. Tell us which panels should be visible first so the fold supports the reading order.
Campaign inserts
A leaflet can sit inside a direct mail envelope alongside a letter or response form. The final folded dimensions and stock need to suit the pack, so it helps to plan all components together.
Paper & finishes
Silk and gloss coated papers show photographs and strong colour clearly; uncoated paper has a more tactile feel and is useful when a recipient may need to write on the piece. FSC-certified stocks are available, as are recycled options to discuss for your specification.
For a more distinctive piece, ask about lamination, spot UV, foil or embossing. These treatments change the feel and emphasis of the design, but they also affect fold placement and how the sheet behaves. We can discuss the finish alongside the paper before artwork is finalised.
Folding and finishing
We trim, fold and finish leaflets in-house. A flat flyer needs no binding; a folded leaflet is a single sheet, so there is no stitched spine. If the content grows beyond what fits comfortably on a folded sheet, a saddle-stitched booklet may be a clearer choice.
Share the planned finished size and fold with us rather than assuming the open artwork size is the delivery size. Keep essential text away from fold lines and allow for bleed at trimmed edges. Our pre-press team checks supplied files before production.
Litho or digital printing?
Digital printing suits a short run, several versions of a campaign or pieces that need variable names, images or codes. Heidelberg Versafire digital presses let us change content between copies without making new litho plates.
For longer runs with the same artwork, B2 litho printing on our Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 may be the better production route. The right choice depends on quantity, stock, format and finishing, not a fixed cut-off. Send us the specification and we can recommend a process.
Mailing & trade print
If the leaflet is part of a posted campaign, we can print, fold, personalise and enclose it with the other components at our Keighley site. Our data team can prepare address records and our mailing operation handles Royal Mail Mailmark sortation for qualifying UK mailings. That avoids having to move printed inserts between separate suppliers.
We also produce unbranded white-label leaflets for print resellers and agencies under NDA. Tell us whether the pieces are for hand distribution, a third-party pack or our own enclosing lines; the answer may influence the format and stock we suggest.
