Bilingual Print & Direct Mail for Cardiff Organisations
Many Cardiff organisations publish in both Welsh and English, which changes how a print job is planned. A bilingual leaflet needs room for two languages; a bilingual mailing may need each recipient to get the right language version. Fretwell prints and mails this kind of work at our factory in Keighley, West Yorkshire.
We print the bilingual artwork and copy you supply; we do not offer translation. What we bring is the production side: choosing a format that gives both languages fair space, printing language versions together, and matching each version to the right recipient in a mailing.

Planning print in two languages
Bilingual documents tend to follow one of a few layouts: side-by-side columns, back-to-back versions, a tête-bêche (flip) booklet, or separate Welsh and English editions. Each affects page count, folding and binding. Tell us how your organisation presents the two languages and we can advise on formats and finishing, from folded leaflets to saddle-stitched or PUR-bound booklets.
Where recipients have chosen a preferred language, variable data printing lets one run carry Welsh, English or bilingual versions, driven by a field in your data. Our Heidelberg Versafire and Konica Minolta AccurioPress digital presses print the versions, and Buhrs enclosing lines assemble each pack so the right letter reaches the right person. Our variable data printing guide explains how this works.
Public bodies, charities and campaigns
As the Welsh capital, Cardiff is home to public bodies, charities, membership organisations and businesses that communicate with audiences across Wales. A mailing to those audiences can be printed and enclosed at Keighley and sorted for Royal Mail Mailmark, which delivers to every Welsh postcode.
Procurement teams often ask about standards as well as price. We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certification and FSC chain of custody, and our data-processing team prepares address files under our information security framework. For longer runs of reports and brochures, our Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 B2 litho press is available.
