Forms that copy themselves
NCR (no carbon required) paper transfers what is written on the top sheet onto the sheets beneath, so each person gets their own copy without carbon paper. It suits any paperwork filled in by hand: invoices, delivery notes, order forms, receipts and job sheets. The layout matters, because every field needs enough space to write clearly. A useful brief includes the size, the number of parts, whether the forms need numbering, and how they will be bound.
Two-part, three-part and four-part sets
Each part is a separate copy, often on a different coloured sheet so each copy is easy to tell apart, such as white, yellow and pink.
Pads and books
Sets can be bound into pads or books, glued along one edge, so they can be torn out one at a time.
Sizes
A4, A5 and A6 are common sizes for NCR forms. Choose based on how much information each form needs to capture.
Paper & finishes
NCR paper is a coated paper designed to make the copies. The top sheet, middle sheets and bottom sheet have different coatings, so the set order matters. Coloured sheets help each copy be identified at a glance.
Your logo, company details and form layout are printed on each part. Tell us whether every copy should show the same content or whether some parts need different wording, such as 'customer copy' or 'office copy'.
Numbering, perforating and binding
Many NCR forms need sequential numbering so every invoice or delivery note can be tracked. Perforations make it easy to tear forms from a pad. Tell us about both when requesting a quote.
Pads and books are usually glued along one edge, with a card back to provide a firm writing surface. We can discuss the best binding for how the forms will be used.
Litho or digital printing?
NCR forms are usually printed in one or two colours, colour-matched to your other stationery where needed.

Mailing & trade print
NCR pads are often ordered alongside other business stationery. We can supply them with your letterheads, business cards, compliment slips and envelopes so the suite stays consistent.
